Mike,
I know it would be interesting and informative to all those just starting out as well as those who are new to the Digital Age…..Would you be so kind as to share the following equipment information:
your computer type…. and memory, where you store what you are working on… internal or external drive.
external gear: [mixers, speakers, compressors, limiters, reverbs, midi interface, audio interface, etc, ]
main recording software [Digital Performer, Logic, Pro Tools, etc. etc.]
choice of plugins, effects programs, etc.
Keyboards, etc.
I want to thank you for providing such a refreshing and open approach in the way that you have setup your website and Blog. Both are a breath of fresh air compared to all of the millions of sites where the musicians keep their cards so close to their chests, not wanting to let anyone really know the ‘how to’ regarding the creation of all the enjoyable music that accompanies the movies.
Additionally, my oldest son has been involved with movie industry for a number of years, working as the Coordinator of Visual & Digital Effects, as well as Outsource Coordinator for Rhythm and Hues, and Digital Domain…. his latest movie is TRON. Additionally, he is back working for the NFL Network as the creator of APPS for the Plasma Screens for their TV shows…. also was the graphics producer for Super Bowl 2008.
I will enjoy reading your future posts and the growth of your website and Blog pages…
thanks,

Jim,
Mike P. and Mike B. both have videos posted that discuss their Computer specs as well as software preferences. You can check out Mike Patti’s template videos here on his website and you can go to http://www.youtube.com/user/DarwinIsInCharge/videos?view=0 to see Mike B’s stuff. Pretty informative as far as midi sequencing is concerned. I hope this helps.
